Hi guys
Me again! This is more a question for blokes in South Africa, however views from elsewhere will be appreciated. I have been told that these things are like hens teeth, rocking horse manure and whole host of clever metaphors. I am in a position to obtain one and would like to know what you guys think a fair price is for one in good condition. Any experiences with respect to the said winch would also be appreciated Regards

Hi, in the uk they a relativly commmon on ebay.
Recently some went for £50, whilst another in A1 condition with all the gubbins went for £350!!! The Trickiest thing is that you need the correct starting dog on the front of the engine blacok - as the winch is powered from the starting handle dog. My mate paid >£40 for this bit alone from and engine breakers. I have bought a spare dog and intend to modify it somehow. Have not used mine yet, but these things are by general consensus amongst my mates very good. I paid £80 for mine with the winch, and driveshaft. need to rig up the engage lever somehow though, and the engine dog. |

Jayce
Unfortunately they are very scares in this part of the world. Found one in Pinetown a few years ago and the guy wanted R3500 for it. Unfortunately I did not have the cash otherwise.... Not very many were brought in to the country, and the army scaled the majority of them in any case.
