Default Military Series rifle mounts.

Finally got my Rifle mounts for my IIa. Just arrived from UK. They are the low mount ones, as I didn't want to advertise too much what my intentions were. LOL! Has anyone ever restored a pair of these buggers? I would like to clean them up, and put them into proper working condition. Also which weapons they will fit without modification. I sold my Fn-Fal years ago, but I still have two CETME's, a PSG-1, and a HK91. I know those will fit, but I was wondering about my MAK90, AK's, and Shotguns. Any ideas?

I've never seen the mounts...you got a picture?
I think just about anything would work with a bit of padding in the mounts.
If a HK91 will fit, a shotgun might knock around a bit, but not much.
I'm thinking about my HK93 and my shotguns....not too different in diameter.

My rifle mounts on my SIII hold my Ruger mini-30 perfect. The will also hold my Charles Daly 12 ga. auto loader, but it is a bit snug. Thats the only ones I have tried so far. As far as fixing the rifle mounts, can't help you there, mine came in pretty good shape. Good Luck.

P.S. NEVER BE AFRAID TO ADVERTISE YOUR INTENTIONS SO LONG AS THEIR IS FIREPOWER INVOLVED!!!!!!!

LOL. Advertising my intentions would lead to a serious amount of prison time. If your CD will fit, then my Benellis's will fit. Possibly even my Winchester, and Remington. Good to know. Thanks.

I would like to see what your talking about? Is it a rack or mount. I'm looking into buying an ex Austrailian MOD SII and have a Browning 1919 I'd like to mount on it.

If you're talking about what I think you are, then no. I have two 1919A4's that are converted to semi-auto and feed cloth belt 7.62x51 rounds. Great for the sportfish when in the bahamas and keys. Those need an actual pedestal mount. What I purchased for the IIa is a pair of mounts (low style) which mount on the tub forward wall behind the seats. There is a high style as well, I am assuming for mounting weapons with long mags in a receiver up position.

I finished dis-assembling mine yesterday, and the worn out part of the mount seems like a suede or old leather. I am going to bring the material to an interior shop, and see if they can replace it with something similar but more weather friendly.

Skikir, If you're trying to make a Rat Patrol lookalike, you need to start with a Jeep. LOL!

Thanks AutoGuy. The first pic is the low mounts I purchased. The second is the high mounts that are also often found for sale. The third pic shows both types mounted on a bulkhead. At far left is one of the low mounts. Then, at center and right are the high mounts.

Smokey; lol. When I was in high school and college, my grandfather was winding up his career as an assistant chief of police. So I was able to go to a lot of gov't auctions with him. In those days, the state police and local sheriff's offices had auctions on weapons after cases were closed. If the accused ended up being guilty, anything that was seized in the search went to auction to try to make up the cost of the court case. We bought all types of stuff in those days. Both of my 1919's came from a supplier in a magazine called the shotgun news. As long as you had them shipped to a FFL dealer, anyone could purchase the semiauto versions. Haven't bought a weapon in 6 or 7 years though, and 9/11 changed almost everything for everybody.
