My New Addition - 67 Series IIA - Land Rovers Only

Hey folks, some months back, I solicited the forums opinions on a 1967 Series IIA that I was considering buying. Well I finally got the price I wanted for it, and it is now home here in Bowling Green KY. I know some, like TerryS, objected then and will get on me for the paint on the windscreen and cappings, but I just had to have this truck!! I have attached some pics for your viewing pleasure. Thanks to all those who provided input, with a special shout-out to Ike Goss and Bill Riter. I am very pleased to have this to add to my stable of Rovers.

PS: the color is G4 Orange
PSS: Having trouble getting the pics loaded, will work on that.......

SO, whats with the doors. Those arent stock are they? those defender doors?
Sorry If i'm ignorant. Not a long time rover watcher.

ALSO curious if thats the original engine. Mine seems older though its a 73. Like I said before.. i have the push on type oil fill cover.
I guess it doesn't matter... just potentially different compression.

Phil; Great looking Series. I have a IIa 1968 Vintage, that I am building for off-road only. Would be interested in the part numbers off your MSD ignition, and coil, if you have the chance to check someday.

Love the G4 paint scheme, on the older truck. Brings it to date a little. Nice addition, indeed.

Zed: yes those are Defender doors, and seats as well. Yes that's the original engine, with Solex carb, alternator conversion, and spin on oil filter, as well as the MSD converted ignition.

XtremeM: I will pull those numbers for you and PM them to you by the weekend.

thanks for the compliments, I really do love this truck, and yes it does turn the heads, especially here in BG where the only Rovers seem to be the new
LR3's or Rangies.

Really like the color of your rover. My 72 Series also came with paint over everything,,windscreen, cappings, reverse light covers. I simply removed the windscreen and some of the cappings and sprayed paint stripper on them. Came right off and it did'nt harm the galvinized finish. I masked around the other galvi trim with 3M masking tape and stuffed some thin card board under the trim to protect the paint job. I applied stripper 12-18 inches at a time. I think it was a big improvement.
