Default Newbie - Series 1 in California

Good Morning everyone!

I'd like to introduce you to my new girl. She's a 1957 88" Station Wagon - LHD - petrol (2 lt.). She has all **new** seating, 25,600 miles, and runs perfectly. Doesn't look off-roaded at all, and everything works! You may have seen her on eBay a couple of months ago (yup... that's the one).

I've been lurking and reading here for a few days and looks like a great bunch. I've seen a few of you on Land Rover Addict forums, and this looks like a great resource also.

Currently I'm working on replacing all the rubber door seals, and any other rotted rubber I can find. Made a couple of minor changes in the back to fit a 'forward' facing baby seat... been cleaning up the galv'y on the exterior, and rubbing out the heavily-oxidized paint.

Also been buying bits and pieces off eBay, and some stuff direct from the Land Rover Orphange in the UK.

Interesting bit of news... was approached yesterday by the location manager of Ugly Betty (TV show - big hit here in the US) about using my Landy for a day on the set!

If they do include her, I'm going to name this yellow bus UGLY BETTY!

Cheers

Randall

Thanks Terry! I'm going to get a close-up photo of Ugly Betty's braces and see if they DID come from the breakfast of a Series 1!!!

Default Thanks Mandy!

Yeah... they already asked for Photos... I'm working on it! I want to get the Pacific ocean and the California 'feel' in the photo... so I'm taking Ugly Betty down to the beach soon and doing just that... wanna' get my sailboat in the background!

Of Course! In fact I think I'll go down there this morning and take some photos over-looking the harbor! You know that point right at the harbor entrance?

Maybe I'll put one of the wheels up on the curb just to show off the articulation!!!
