Would I be totally off my rocker to think that someone would want to trade a RRC LWB for my SIII. Is there too much of a gap in desirability of the two vehicles, or what? I have a 1975 SIII Ex-MOD all stock that runs like a top, so whats the consensus view on this?

Anything is possible. I assume you've already done price comparisons and decided it's not an unreasonable trade. If that's what you want to do, all you will spend is some time advertising such on the various forums. All I'd say is write a very good, complete and honest description of your SIII and take a lot of photos. Good luck.

I think the Series would be worth more than most RRC's. You'd be better off selling and then buying an RRC, and would probably still have cash left. It's impossible to find a decent Series for under $4k, but you can find RRC's for $1k-2k all the time.

Series trucks and classics passed eachother several years ago, going in opposite directions. It would have to be a very good classic and a rough series to be approximately equal in value. If you're bored with the series, find a barn and store it, otherwise I think you may regret trading for some very short term comfort.
FWIW, I never saw a classic stop deteoriating when it reached a certain stage in it's life. They just get worse. |

yea.. I can find half a dozen RRCs on the island for sale right now.. No series trucks.. a couple 90s. but the 90s are in the 30s and 40k range the RRCs of similar year are running more around the $800-few thousand dollar range.
To 90% of america.. RRC is just an suv, worse a british SUV that needs the import mechanic for twice the price. If you were offering up the trade here.. i'd buy the RRC on craigs list for 4K and trade you in an instant.
