Default Not sure?

Hi- I have a seriesIII 109 with a fairey overdrive and she howls like a screaming Banshi! I have just driven it back from Falmouth in Cornwall back to kent and she screamed thte whole way in O.D. Fairey does howl/screama bit. That is normal. As far as the rest I suppose it depends on what gear box you have and what lump it is attatched to. Mine is somewhat loud due to old syncro mesh, but hav,nt had any probs. If it sounds like grinding,a metal on metal noise and she jumps out of gear and tough to get in you may need a new gearbox. Cheer up , a rebuilt box is not as bad as you might think ££ wise.

Hi Log burner.

You Should not be using your o/d in 1st/2nd.... only 3rd or 4th in high range!!!
