As can be seen in the second picture, and interior pictures, I was happy to find that the truck's original color is Bronze Green...EXACTLY what I was looking for. So the restoration is going to be extra special since I feel like this truck was looking for me!

Bleh, that's nothing, I can fit my foot through the hole on the driver side of my 90... its a cut and reweld in the future... as long as the frame and bulkhead are in good condition, you're good to go!

Lucky you live in GA and have some nice weather year round! Unfortunately I bought my 90 right when it was starting to get cold, so I gotta wait to spring til I start my restorations.

Oh man, and how can I forget to mention...the seating position. It's PERFECT! I reach the pedals perfectly, I can see out over the wings, and the shifter is at a comfortable distance.

I am absolutely...nevermind, I still dont know what word to use to describe how I feel!

Grab up a couple of cans of penetrating oil (Liquid Wrench) or the like and start spraying at all the fixings you can reach....It'll help in disassembly...

I would say go at it good with a pressure washer, but with water restrictions here in the South it may be prohibited down your way.

Plenty of pictures of disassembly are nice to have and to reference,...... Though in truth I got more use form notes and crude scribbles in several spiral Steno Note Books... Found them handier to access for review, and such while out in the garage/shop.

Most definitely a workshop manual and in addition a "Parts Catalogue" <--- Your parts supplier whom your fixing to get well acquainted with,, will much appreciate it.

Cheers

Dave

FWIW It may well not be proper with a 109 2a, ???? But "Limestone" against the dark green really looks some kind of sweet...The color contrast/match is difficult to see on screen, though had the chance of seeing a freshly done 88"sw and figure a dark green 109 with limestone sunsheet and wheels would be eye-catching.

Dave, thank you very much for the input and as I mentioned in your thread, your truck is the going to be the inspiration to not half ass anything...lol. I have your thread bookmarked and go on there to droul every now and then.

As you've mentioned, the water restrictions are pertty serious...I'll have to figure something out.

Yes, Colin and I drove up to MA a day or two before Christmas (2006) and inspected it for him. It was a beautiful early 2A 109 SW. He traded his 90 for a G4 Disco. Somewhere I have pics of him wheeling it. It's a totally expedition ready G4.

By the way, Griff & Wife just celebrated birth of son #3

Now, to the subject at hand; That is a VG+ foundation for an excellent restoration. Get the footwell repair pieces and take the whole bulkhead to a good sheetmetal shop. Everything else looks pretty nice. Are you going to strip it down to the chassis? If you do, replace all the brake lines and wiring harness then.
I already let George at RDS know you'll be bugging him.

WOW, 3rd son! I'll send Griff a PM now. Thats good to hear then, he's doing good!

I just woke up and found that it is snowing, so the space heater's going to the garage and im atleast going to start with the shop vac.

JC that truck is sick. Is it going to be a daily driver, if so hope you like going slow, it would be neat if you could perk that engine up with modern stuff but still have it look original. Or if you want to offset costs convert it to run on veggy oil. Are you going to build it up for wheeling or keep it fairly original?
