Might have better luck putting this in the Range Rover section. Probably the bendix spring is stuck. Usually a good wack with a hammer sometimes frees it up. However, no idea where it is located on the Range Rover. Look underneath around the front of the bell housing for a big cylinder that comes out of it with a large gauge cable coming out of the end of it.
