Default roof rack

The paint is peeling on my roof rack. I was thinking of sanding it down and repainting it with black epoxy paint. Is this a good idea? & does anyone have any other suggestions?

I would sand it, hit it with a rust fighting primer, then blast it with bedliner. Bedliner is a great paint, by bedliner I mean like RhinoLining. I probably spelled that wrong, but I spell allot of stuff wrong I used bedliner on the bottom of my doors on my only Disco, awesome stuff, I'll probably use it on the lower part of my Range too, then you never have to worry about scratches, I'll probly paint my RoverTym front bumper with it too.... Hope that helps
