Default seat belt exemption

hi guys...
anyone know the law behind seat belt exempt on landys? mine is a 1973 ex military lightweight '88. i kinda figure it is seatbelt exempt but wondered if anyone knew specifics and/or a link to info about on the web?

In the US a '73 came ith seat belts so I assume you would not be exempt, why would you want to be though? Do you not like your teeth?

i live in london, UK.
just asking as i know '68 yr landys are seat belt excempt.

and yeah - my teeth arent that important really.

So did a '71 2A. And Kevin's point is well taken; Why would you not want them? In CT, Older classics and antiques still need, at the least, a lap belt to pass inspection. It's tough to argue whether your car originally had them when your jaw is wired shut (if you're that lucky).

Mine passed safety here in Ontario without seat belts (mind you I put them in after the safety, as once they are installed, you can fail the safety unless you have them tested..... ) I also installed the high back seats out of a honda civic as well, just because I like my spinal cord to be in place after a rear end collision.....
