Question Series 2? part finding problems

Does anybody know a place that sells the distributor cab and leads for a 6cyl series2? model?. It is a lucas part. I have been to all the usual places around Perth and they look at you like a martian when you tell them the model and show them the offending parts.

Not sure where you are at but try Rovers North if you are in the US. Gordo

I was told when I bought the ute it was a series 2, although I cant find any plates on her to confirm this. As She has the lights on the inside of the quater panels I persumed she must be. Your right there are many landrovers down here unfortunately most seem to have been converted to holden 6cyl (GMH) motors....Lots of parts for them......

Might see if it is the same as a Jag 6 cap as it had a lucas dizzy as well.

Nope, no 6cyl series II's. 6cyl wasn't introduced until the Series IIa.

As for leads, just buy the bits and make your own.

3900 total 6cyl 2a built vs 225,000 of the 4cyl...are ANY of them LHD? He's right.. you don't find parts for it in catalogues.. I couldn't find numbers for the series III 6cyl. I imagine it was similar.

6 cyl is supposed to be barely different from the 4cyl power wise.
Wonder why they went with it. gunna feel the 5 hp 5 ft/lbs?

For Series IIa
811 LHD LHD Station Wagons - North America (commonly called 109 NADA 6cyl)
2,191 LHD Station Wagons - ROW
Unknown the numbers on 6 cyl regular, but one to North America
633 LHD Forward Control - ROW
40 LHD 6cyl 1 Tons
6 LHD Forward Control CKW - ROW
Don't know LHD 6cyl Regular CKW - ROW
Don't know LHD 6cyl Station Wagon CKW - ROW

I think those numbers are fairly accurate

Dunno Series III

Thanks for the advice Il see if jaguar have any compatible parts. I have bought some leads to replace the existing ones, however the plastic dizzy cap is becoming a tad brittle for my liking. Thanks for the heads up on the exact model, she must be a series 2a then.
P.s You will only see a man will open the door for a women if its a new car or a new women.
