Question Series II wheels

I am new to this post and looked for a little while to find an answer before asking the question but here goes. I currently have 27x8.5/14 on my '60 series II. I want to go back to a 15 or 16 inch wheel and I want to run a 31-33 inch tire, maybe 34 if they won't kill it (I think about 32 or 33 was stock 9.00x16). I was looking at LTB's or TSL's which typically run 10.5-11.5 wide. My Series is not a daily driver so I want very aggressive tires. So here is my question. For the larger wheels am I restricted to a stock rim which usually is 5.5-6.5 wide (have found one that is 7), or are there other aftermarket wheels? I think for the tires above a minimum of 8 inches wide is required. I am assuming the bolt pattern is "unique" and so it will be hard to find an aftermarket wheel. What size tire do other series owners run on their wheels if they are the smaller width?

Thanx

I think the most common large tire is 235-85-16 which is about the same as a 7.5x16. The 9x16 was on FC's. Very tall or wide tires will screw up your turning radius unless you space your wheels out or find some with a lower offset. Wider ones will still probably rub on the wheel wells unless you cut them, as will very tall tires. Land Rover Steel Wheels and OFF ROAD OFFROADERS OFFROAD WHEELS MOTORSPOTRTS Buy MRW are a couple places that sell wheels.

seen disco wheels on rr and series and hybrids..

looks like the offset is a bit more positive. Seem to be in the wheel arch vs tucked away.
like my factory 7.5"(?) steel with 285s

Interesting, in my 34 years of being around rovers I've never seen a 14" wheel on a Land Rover.

On most of my series Rovers I've always run 7.50x16's (32" dia). My '62 has 7.00x15's (about 29" dia or so). On a '74 I used to own I ran something like a 30x10.5x15 (something like that, it's been 30 years ago so I can't remember for sure).

Land Rover has a bolt pattern unto itself as far as the US is concerned, so you won't find wheels from some other make. 5 x 6.5

here you go

My grandfather put them on a long time ago maybe to gear it down lower as he did a lot of hunting, but not sure they've been on longer than I've been alive

Other pics are in the show it off section.

32" or 7.50X16 is about as big as you want to go on a stock landy. Bigger and you'll raise the gearing too high for the 4 pot and you'll also start eating those 10 spline rear axles.

You can sort the axle thing but power is always an issue.

Cheers
