Hi,
I did a search and did not find what I was looking for, unless I missed it. I was wondering what would be required to upgrade/replace the stock headlights in my Series III 88" to something that is comparable to the headlights of today? Is it a simple swap of the sealed unit, or would it require some extra wiring? Oh, if anyone has added foglights to their Series III/II I would love to hear what kind, and how they have performed. If you could provide links it would be appreciated ![]() Thank you ![]() |

5 minute job, buy a set of Hella Vision Plus headlamps and plug them in. I did and I love them, WAY better than the old sealed beams.

Laser Blue,(Bulbs) is just a name, and not actually "BLUE" in color!! They are just a brighter pure white light instead of the usual yellowie white as standard.
Halfords motor factors £10 each, lasting very well, now in the 7-8 year on the truck.! WALMART? how common.! |

I made a mistake by posting in the series forum asking about fog lights; Mods, please excuse the double posting.
Can anyone recomend fog lights they have used for a Series Rover? Are there any recomendations that would be a good brand as well as a good look? |

Go to Auto zone and get the APC sealed lenses and H4 bulbs. The whole thing took 10 minutes in total for my RRC

The APC stuff looks to 'ricey' on a Series. I think I'm going to put repro tripods on my 65, even though they didn't come on them originally.
Are you looking for a fog lamp that looks right on a vintage truck or just looking for a good fog lamp in general?

I have a set of Sylvania Silverstars in my Series III SWB. They produce a bright white light with a useful beam pattern. Install is a simple bulb swap. I've found the beam pattern to be every bit as good as the Hella's I used prior.
Sylvania's are easy to find at local retailers, cheaper, and they don't fill with water when submerged like Hella's. The water can be easily drained from the Hella's but it will stain the reflector rendering them useless. Henry www.4x4freedom.com |
