Default Sidelight rubbers wanted

Hi does anyone know a source of the rubber gasket that sits behind the sidelightglass and in between the wing panel of the series 3 sidelights. it stops the water getting in behind the glass, i would be needing quite a lot of these if i can find a source.
Thanks in advance pete..

They usually come with the new lights, have not seen them on their own, but I am sure they are out there. Let us know if you find any...

Default I looked for months

I looked for months and inquired at many places, including overseas, while we were restoring. Mine were crackled and shedding black smut beyond use. Finally broke down and bought whole thing from Rovers Down South, but they are EXPENSIVE, from my perspective. If I had it to do over again, I would change to Defender style, Readily available and less expensive. If you find them, buy them on the spot. I found with this rare stuff, it does not last long. Found a rear window top lock in UK, waited a few weeks, and he had sold them all. Been looking for that for awhile, now. Kindof like Sam's Club, I guess. Better get it in Sam's if you want it, may not be there when you go back!
Good Luck!

Yes I have been getting the same story you can buy the whole thing with a naf piece of black pvc on the back but not the rubber gasket. the new lamps complete with gasket dont look like they would last 5 minutes, perhaps just long enough to get through an mot then buy another set next year, certainly not waterproof.
Thanks anyway for your reply Pete..

There are two versions. The old style is flat, and the later style has a slight curve on the back, thicker at the leading edge.
In any case, I got mine from good ole George at RDS. He had them seperate at the time, but I don't know when Bama got his.

Default cross reference

If you have the late IIa or 3, these rubber bases cross reference from an austin healy sprite of the same vintage. I got mine from Moss Motors for about $10 a piece.

I am SO disappointed. I quickly scanned through the forum message headers, and I thought Sideview was looking for a man with rubbers handy!

I just went to Paddocks site. The only sidelights I saw were the cheapy plastic ones like used on Defenders. The old lucas ones with the chrome bezels are rare

Terry,
Something like this no?

Say, how is that 110 doing? I've actually made some progress on the 109, well, at least in the disassembly stages...

Hey Mathew, Welcome back

Yes that's the one I needed. The two rear ones on my 2A are somewhat cracked, so in my next load of stuff for the TD, I'll have Moss send me some too.

Now, If we could only get Moeras to come back.
