Things to check.
1st... Speedo drive cable, make sure it is lubed and spins freely and is routed though the chassis so it is not kinked. 2nd... T-case output shaft nut, under where the rear drive shaft mounts to the T-case output flange in the center of the emergency brake. Make sure this nut is tight. 3rd... If all the above checks out I would get a good used speedo and try it. 4th... The speedo drive gear housing which also retains the T-case output bearing preload can be checked and adjusted if needed. Get out the "Green Bible" for this procedure. Unless your T-case is worn out or someone rebuilt it incorrectly this should be OK. I have heard that some guys will just remove one of the thinner shims that adjust the bearing preload and see how it does. I would be concerned about putting to much preload on the bearings doing this and than needing to rebuild the T-case in short order. Mine ended up needing a speedo but mine was jumping around from 0 to 70+ no matter what speed I was going. ![]()
