Default SIII 109 5 door SW is home.

I've been so busy trying to find a good home for the 81' 3 door, I forgot to post up the photos of the 5 door SW. Here it is the day I put it in the driveway:

It's funny. When I look at the 5 door next to my DII, it's so easy to see the lineage. The sloping roofline, the big swing open rear cargo door, the alpine windows. lol! And I thought all RR's looked like their ancestors.

The blue one is pretty rare, as there were very few NHDs (No Hand Drive) built.
Unless you're planning on reframing it, my advice is to abandon the idea of converting it.

Terry; LOL!

It's not for a conversion. The reason I got it so cheap is that the PO did not know how to rebuild the steering box. He had some hack, side of the road, redneck shop take out the steering column, and they gave up on it. I can buy a brand new, RHD steering box for a SIII from Paddock for less than 300 bucks. Then, I just need to install new brake and clutch master cylinders, and it's a daily driver. Motor runs like a top, and it's got the Fairey Overdrive. Since I live only six miles from work, it's a nice runner.

That makes sense. Glad you're gonna keep it like it was born. I just came back from town in the Stage one, and the looks I get from people is worth getting up in the morning for. ( especially since my border collie was sitting in the left seat).

Yep. Stocker. Only thing going on this truck is a bullbar with a pair of round fog lights. The front spring hangers were gone, so the PO pushed in some 3x3x1/4" box into the frame and welded it up. I welded on a 3x3 box bumper onto it last night, and the stock bumper fits right over it. No one will notice it unless I hit something. With 24" of seam welded 1/4" thick box, I might go through the other vehicle.
I'm fitting a twin motor gigglepin winch to the front of the IIa hybrid, so off came the A frame bull bar with the Hella 550's, and it's going to go on the 109. Pick up a pair of good PIAA round fogs from TerraTrekker, and that truck will stay otherwise stock. Just ordered a set of 5 Yokohama 235/85/16 A/T's for it. Otherwise, it's just going to be a DD.

Not like you don't have enough to do, but humor an old man and strip that swimming pool paint off the windshield frame and galvy cappings.

It's coming off the frame on it's own. LMAO! But on the galvy cappings, I actually favor it. If it was a soft hood set, oe even a P/U cab, I would be back to galvy in a second. But with the SW tropical roof, I don't think it looks that bad. I did look under where it's peeling from the windshield frame, and it never had any prep work done. So I'm going to let it peel off, and then never retouch it. Feel that the frame should look natural. lol.
