Has anybody had any experience with doing a springover axle lift on a series rover? What in all would have to be changed? Do you have to get longer driveshafts, drop pitman arms, etc.? Just curious, I think I would like the way it would look on a series rover. Anybody have any before and after pics of this done to a series?

You can fit as big a tire as a series can turn under a series with parabolics without going SOA.

Here is some info on a spring over:
Increasing Land Rover ground clearance Kevin's right though, unless you are wanting to do a powerplant change you wont be running much more than a 33in. If you want to go the big tire route, plan on lots of mods and a new engine. Stock gearing is good enough for 32's and if you put some HP mods on your engine, 33's. anything more will make your little 2.25 wheez to death. But if you want to try, go for it and let us know how it goes.

I was thinking of doing it more for looks than running bigger, wider tires. I love the look of tall Skinny tires. I just thought it would look good with a few extra inches of lift. Maybe I just can't leave well enough alone. The link above does give some good info though. Thanks for the input.

I am in the middle of a TALL landy. SOA conversion, Parabolic springs, and Military shackles on all four corners. Going tall and skinny as well. 35 x 10.5 x 16 Interco Boggers on stock series 16's, with welded on beadlocks. The hard part is all of the little things which you need to get. And the 800.oo for GBR parabolics with greasable pins.

If you want it to look better, and taller, get rid of those stupid rocker panels. If you have the early 4" ones, your ride will look 4" taller and 2000 lbs lighter without them. You loose about 8 pounds real weight. Get wheels that put the tires out near the fender too. Big improvement in looks.
(Stupid rocker panels? Is my opinion showing through this text?) ![]() |

Well, one more reason I was thinking of doing it, I have a set of wheels on the way to me now that are 19.5"x6" and my tire guy can get me 19.5 aggressive tred tires pretty reasonable. I always liked the look of the Georgia power trucks (local power co. back in Ga.) from the mid to late seventies because they had big lifts and 19.5" wheels and tires that were tall and skinny. Those things would go anywhere and they looked damn cool in my opinion. Like I said, I can't leave well enough alone. I'm a habitual tinkerer.

You are going to create drive line angles that are going to cost you money to work around as well. Probably need a CV rear shaft, spring wedges to tilt the pinion up, longer shocks etc.
