If you're in the US, the series 3 had standard 15" rims...6" wide IIRC. Now, that's fine, but the width limits your tire choices. Most people swap out to 16" rims so they can fit something like 235/85/16, which gives a lot of nice mud tire choices...The 15" rims also came on my late IIa, but I put those Wolfe rims on with 235/85/16 Kumho Venture MTs... in South Africa all series 2 and later landies came out with 16/700 or 16/750 tires.
