Thumbs down Tax EXEMPT?

hi,
have a series 3 lightweight currently on a sorn, it just passed a new style MOT and the computerised ticket gives 1971 as year of manufacture, I had thought it was 1973 august.Does anyone know if this mot is sufficent evidence to make it historic i.e. tax exempt. It is currently on a Q plate so the plate is no help in determining its age.
regards tim gear

The MOt certificate will be linked to the DVLC so this info will be correct and it will be them that swap the plates and details so cant see you having any trouble
