Encountered a problem on the rear diff of my 65 88, it was leaking oil and spewing it in odd directions, as in i would drive and notice drops of oil all over the back side of the landy. Later, i look underneath, and notice a puncture hole at the back of the diff. It was punctured as if it was from the inside out. Everything seemed to be functioning properly, so i didnt think much of it. I didnt drive it once i figured out what happened. I drained the oil from the diff, and two pieces of gear came out with the oil....
Now to the even wierder part. Today after school I got all set up to pull the diff out. I did the standard removal procedure...which usually involves loss of blood and a crow bar... . We finally got the diff out. My dad took it up to our mechanic friends shop to take it apart. I have to make a note now that the housing for the diff looks exactly like a Rover Diff, not ENV or Salsbury. So my dad had everything apart, and inside he didnt recognize the parts that were supposed to be there, It had the inside that looked like a Salsbury, but had a two piece center. So instead of the Rover Diffs 2 Diff Pinion Gears, mine has four, along with the Two Diff Wheels. My dad described it as looking like a Positraction Diff.I know that was really wordy but any ideas on what this could be, or where to get the gears that are broken from? Anything would be appreciated.

sorry for the bad pic quality

Ok, i found out some more information about what i have from the fine people at RoversNorth. They told me that it was something that was only done for one year (1965), and it was a certain type of differential that was on the 109's that you could have dealer installed on your 88, and it is supposed to act as a LSD...
anyone heard about anything like this at all, and or anyone know where to get parts...as of now we just ordered a rebuilt Rover diff to revert it to stock, but still have all the old parts from the original...
