Anyone know how to identify the year of a series truck based on the VIN or Serial number?

Series trucks were pre the 17 digit VIN numbering system, so there are no years digits, just sequential numbering system. Worse than that is that to certain areas of the world, different ranges of numbers were assigned.
If you sent the number to one of several groups in the UK, like the Motor Heritage Trust, they will tell you about your specific truck. Somone on one of the boards posted a fairly accurate list of year/ SN sequence. I think it may heave been on Guns & Rovers, or many years ago, on the old Rovers North Board. |
