Default 1990 RRC - Need Help With Electrical Connectors

We have three electrical connectors hanging out from just left of the lighter under the dashboard of our 1990 County. (See attached photo)

Any help identifying what they are and where they should be plugged in, or not, would be appreciated. Thanks.

looks like at least one of these connectors is for a switch in your switch panel - the panel to the left of the AC control panel. the connector i that's likely supposed to go there is the grey one - you can see it has a multi pin connector and a socket for a blade type light bulb.

If this is for the switch panel, some switch would not be working - like rear window defroster, front windscreen defroster, fog lights, cruise control, interior dome light? To fix it, remove the blank switch - this is easy to pry out. inch it out with a flat blade a little on each side all around. Then you'll better be able to pop each switch out (note which goes in which place in the panel) and see if its not connected. while all the switches are all popped out, you can run the wiring back up since its fallen down to below your lighter.

The black connector is either for a switch in the panel or maybe it could be wiring for your side view mirror remote control.

The one with only a red wire and a black wire with a bright blue connector is power for something. It looks an awful lot like the kind of connector that provides power through the center console wiring harness to various things. I think harness connectors for the seats use this color connector, as do harness connectors for the side mirror control, but so do harness connectors throughout the truck.

So I'd start by figuring out what isnt working. goodluck.

Herman,

Thanks for the help. You're right that the grey plug looks like it goes to one of the switches in the panel to the left of the AC. Each of the five switches already has wiring going to it. I have not been able to find a home for any of these three connectors.

Rear window defroster, windscreen defroster, interior lights, power seats and power side mirrors all work. Fogs are missing and cruise does not work. I might try plugging the cruise switch into the grey plug.

Any thoughts on where to get color coding charts for electrical wiring? Thanks again.

Shop manual... if you don't have one do a search here cause there is a link for downloading it. If you still can't find it, let me know and I'll send you the needed pages.

i think the gray plug is for the defroster (rear i think) and the blue should go to the climate control panel lights...do either of these currently work?

all of your switches in the panel are connected eh? there is also some possibility that one of these wiring harness connectors represents a termination that had a purpose in an earlier model but was removed in 1990 models (or earlier). i had my 1991 apart over last summer and winter and there was one connector under drivers seat that was not connected, and there was one in the center console, although it did not look like any of the three you have there.
