I purchased a 1994 RR Classic. I was recieving intermittent spark. The truck will not start. After checking and running 12v directly to the coil . I now do not have power to the coil either. Please help where should I begain to look . I have also purchased a Mallory Dizzy Unilite, coil, and ballast.

My long range diagnostics of your coil is that you have a problem on the ignition side of the coil. Check for loose wires or a poor earth, hence the intermittant spark.

Inside the cab. On the fuse block there is a coil fuse. It's labeled with a lightning bolt over an engine I believe.

Sorry it took soo long for an update. I replaced the 10amp fuse in the fuse block. Now I have power to the coil. I replaced the original coil with a Mallory coil and ballast. I still have no spark from the coil to the dizzy. I removed the HD lead held it close to ground, and no spark. Does anyone have the correct wiring configuration i.e. white black and white connection in relation to the + and - leads on the coil? Thanks

Default Install complete

Today we had some nice weather. I got Mallory Dizzy&Coil installed. New Battery. I installed the Mallory leads as follows G/BW/BW to neg. post on coil and 1 lead from neg. to ground on fenderwell, w to ballast resistor in/ w to pos. lead on coil red to pos. lead on coil. I have no power to coil when I turn the engin over. Once the key is released I see a quick flash on the test light. I have run a lead directly to the positive side of the coil and still have no spark. what is going on. Bad ing switch? I am lost.

Default I now have power to coil

Following recommendations from board members via tele phone. I removed the cowl from the steering colum secured the back of the ignition harness, and now have power to the positive side of the coil. I still have no spark, the coil got hot cranking it over for a while. Any idea why I still dont have a spark, and the heat issuer with this mallory electronic coil?
Thank Paridah
