Default 255/85 on RRC?

Hello , Will a 255/85 tire fit on a 94 RRC with a 2" lift and some trimming? Or is it better to go with a 3" lift? Also what suspension kits do you reccommend? I'm new to Land Rovers, so any help would be great.

RoverTym.

255's might fit with 2" if you trim...

They oughta fit. Being that it is a fairly wide tire, you may have to also adjust your steering bump stops, pretty simple. I know 33's will fit on my truck given that I adjust the steering bump stops, and do some trimming, I have the RTE 2" lift on my LWB.

for a 33", 255 is a slightly skinny tire. Most of my RR1 owning buddies are up 3" to 3.5" and have switched to 285/75 for the gain in tread and track width. The 285 is still a pretty skinny 33". If you notice most 33" tires run are 12.5" wide versus the 285 at 11.2" wide. They did not like the feeling on side slopes as much as the 285/75. Just reporting what I've heard and seen. I've always had the 285/75.

Food for confusion.

Standard Rangie Classic tyres are 205's. So 255's are 25% wider than standard. I have found 255's wide enough.

I only get 24.39% bigger. A little skinnier than you were thinking?

We see a lot of the 15" rim 'floatation' sizes here in the U.S. 31x10.5, 33x12.5, etc, so my comment was relatively skinny.

I'd always thought 205 looked a bit silly on a RR1, so not a great starting place in my opinion. I'd always assumed they were so small and narrow so the RR1 would have some acceleration! hahaha

I agree with ya on this one Ian. My 265's rub like no other, given that yeah, I didn't adjust my steering bump stops yet. Supposedly by getting offset wheels helps but it also screws with your SAI angles (Steering Axis Inclination). These can cause some possible premature bearing failure, but it can allow for a wider pattern with your tires and to get over some obstacles.

I have 285's on stock wheels. Good for me!

Adjusted steering stops so they can just rub.

Happy for the last 7 years.

As Humpty from Digital Underground said DOWHATCHALIKE..
