Default 4.2L distributor orientation

Was just wondering if my distributor orientation is correct. Vac advance centerline is like 45 degrees from center of cam. This correct or perhaps off a tooth?
This is for a 95RRC LWB with a B suffix motor (trochoid oil pump integral to the timing cover, serpentine belt, etc.)

Why do you ask, is the engine running poorly ? The best way to tell is to dis-connect the battery, remove the cap, turn the engine by hand untill #1 piston is at TDC. When at TDC, if the rotor is pointing at #1 spark plug wire the you are in the ballpark to correctly time the engine.

Yes the motor runs but runs poorly and idles like crap. If I was 180 off it wouldnt even start right? It does start has decent acceleration except up hills and poor idle. All the other idle items except dist, dist advance, ECU have been looked at and replaced or checked.

Yes, if the dist was 180 off the engine would not run. Have you checked the timing? If you suspect the distributor some shops still have a dist calibration machine, great tools but hardly anyone uses them any more. Or you could change it with a 'known' good one or a performance upgrade (see other thread on 4.2l dist). But if you can, get the dist tested.
