First, went to dealer for check on vibration. Frist mistake. Dealer quoted $2100 for the complete front transfer case. Hell with it.
Went to my mechanic. I did not go to him because he was on vacation. Checked, drove around. He told me to be on saf side, suggested flush and refill the fluid. Changed fluid to synthetic. Test drove. No vibration, No noise. cost? $14.75. He also fond three tie rod ends bad, and replaced it under warranty. |

How could changing the fluid in the transfer case get rid of a vibration? I think your problem was the tie rod ends and not the TC or driveline.

Maybe. But we did the test drive afte the fluid was changed. No viration or noise. After that, my mechanic put the car on the lift to do the final inspection and found the tie rod end being bad. Don't ask me why the fluid would have fixed, but I am happy
