Well, I went to turn the heat on today and the fan wouldn't come on. It was working about 2 weeks ago for sure...but the last few times I drove it I haven't tried to turn it on. Where should I start looking for the problem? THe fuse is not blown. I really hope the fan isn't bad.

The resistor in my 88 RRC is inside the heater unit itself- dismantling the dash is he "only" way I could get to mine- If it blows on hi, but not med and low- thats a clasic resistor problem- if it doesn't blow at all- thats something else-
Mine blew very porly- no airflow- but the motor ran low-med-high- changed blower motors- lots of air. There is some talk about a blower motor relay you ight want to check- or the switch itself may be bad. Don't know where the relay is, but the switch can be pulled fairly easily. Good luck. |

We sell a lot of replacement resistors... but if you're in there, which takes a long time, might as well do the motor too.

I am bringing this post back from the dead because I am still having the problem.
More details.... The fan switch causes the radiator fans and the compressor to some on leading me to believe the switch is good. There is no fan on heat or AC. I read in another post that there is a fuse for the AC under the passenger seat, but I cant find any fuses under there. How does the AC fan come loose so I can test for voltage?

Does an '88 have separate blowers for heater and AC, or just a single blower?

Separate, you should see the two a/c fans by looking up from the passenger side floorboard, the heater fan is buried in the dash.
