Hi all- noticed the other day driving that my temp gauge is all the way left, even after driving around town for a while, then my wife drove it about 60 miles during the day (forgot to tell her not to), with no problems and seems to not overheat and no coolant lost.
Anyway, any advice to where I should start troubleshooting? Randy 90 RRC 225,000mls |

maybe the sensor on the cap of the coolant? i have had so many problems with sensors. most of the time nothing is really wrong, the sensor just goes bad and needs to be replaced

The wires on the cap on the expansion tank are for level of coolant. Check the connections right behind the distributor. Those are the sensors you are looking for. Maybe it is just unplugged.
http://www.okierover.com/tempsensors.htm I wish I could remember which one is for the guage. Ryan may be right. For sure the wires on the expansion tank are for level maybe they have additional duties. |
