Default 93 Classic won't start

I just bought a great 93 LWB 93,000 original miles. I has just recieved two new heads due to the previous owner overheating it. It started fine and drove fine at the time of purchase. I brought it home on a trailer and took it to a friend to show him. Ran fine on the way, sat for two hours, and wouldn't start. It would crank until the battery drained. I jumped it with some starting fluid and made it half way home, 2 miles, and it died at an intersection. Since then I have tried to locate the problem. I come home from work and it starts right up. I let it run for 10 min or so and shut it off to try to restart and it will not. When it is running it idles a little rough, so i think this has somthing to do with the injection system ( thanks Lucas!!! ).
Has anyone else had this issue. This is my second Rover, I still have the first 88, and I have never had something like this happen.

Mine did the same thing, and it was a bad coil. It would run fine, shut it off, wouldn't want to start. Crank, crank, crank, it would fire up and run fine, then 20 minutes later die while you were driving. The next time you would get in it it would start right up, then the next time it wouldn't start at all.

There are other things it could be, and all of the gearheads on the board will explain them to you in great detail But my problem fixed by simply putting on a new coil.

Mine did this as well. And it too was a coil.
BUT!
My coil was eaten by my ignition module. If your 93 still has the module on the side of the distributor you will need to get the kit to relocate it.

Basically it gets hot as the engine gets hot and your spark gets really weak. Which somehow cause the module to damage the coil probably due to voltage.

But I'm sure someone will straighten that out if I got it wrong.

Coils are cheap to replace, if you want aftermarket, like MSD universal Blaster coils, I was thinking about getting the system, but not sure yet. When I had no start problems, it was due to the fact I ran regular unleaded, instead of premium, and the plugs I used were crappy Bosch Plugs. Ask anyone, Bosch is usually noted for their crappy plugs, but everything else they make is good stuff. Weird.

my bet is amp module too. They usually act up when hot. Next time it wont start try cooling it off with a little water and see if that helps. Just a guess though. gordo

Where can I find this and how would I test?
As far as the coil goes, is the one in my '88 the same? I would be nice to test before throwing money away. Is it also possible this is causing the rough idle?

How do you know your starter isn't turning?
Are you sure your battery just didn't die?
Dead battery will cause idle problems especially under heavy load.
People forget that heat can kill a battery the same as the winter can.

yeah the battery is completely fine, i ran cable from the battery straight to the starter, i tried running a cable to the solenoid wire and i tried jumping the starter and nothing happened, no noises or anything...so im guessing the starter is dead after 171,000 miles of use

Check out battery connections, cables, etc.. Sounds like a dead starter if the starter slowly cranks over and over every time.

It will be a matter of time for mine to go, but I haven't had slow cranking lately.

so my starter was definately DEAD! it took me an hour or 2 to get it off because its so hard to get to with proper tools...once i got it off i tested it with jumper cables and it could barely run and that was because i was bypassing the solenoid...anyway i went 2 autozone and got a new one for $189...it took me bout 15 minutes to install the new one and it works great...im glad everything is bak 2 normal and i longer have 2 listen 2 my mom bitching at me while giving me rides haha
