I just purchased a 1993 Range Rover County LWB. It is exceptionally clean with low miles. My wife and I love it. However, when parked in our hilly driveway I pulled the emergency brake handle and now the cable is stuck and won't release the brake. I'm stuck! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

This will take two people: The one faint at heart to sit in the car with their foot on the brake, the gutsy one to climb under the truck.
While somone is holding down the brake lever, the other person needs to climb under the truck and pry, bang, force or otherwise move the linkage at the front side of of the E brake drum. It's very commone for these trucks, when their E brake is not regularly used, the have a cable freeze up. I've tried differnt methods of lubing the cable to no avail, and have replace the cable. Once you free the linkage going into the back (front side) of the Ebrake drum, remember not to use the E brake till ychanged out the cable (which, by itself is a relatively simple, but in Rover fashion, time consuming procedure) |

You don't need to get inside the brake drum, since it is very unlikely that is the location of the seized part. Just pry on the lever, which will withdraw the cable, and slacken
