'93 RR LWB County Fluid Changes - Land Rovers Only

Hello, I recently purchased my Rover and it's time to dump the fluids. Any recommendations? I normally run Mobil 1 synthetic in my cars. Is this ok? Also, it has approx. 90k miles, should I flush the trans? Any info would be appreciated!

on my '93 lwb i use castrol 5w/30 for the MN winters and last wkend i put in 20w/50 castrol w/ a crc oil flush, lucas oil stablizer, k&n 3001. old engine i would stay away from synthetic oil but everyone has their ways. i had my tran flush last summer the person before me did not keep her up and the trany fluid was bad. i had it flushed once and flushed again after 1000 miles just to make sure it was clean. i put in lucas trany fix. i can really feel the change (good) in the gear shifting!(change every 30,000) check to c about the fuel filter, crackcase breather (pvc) and crackcase air intake filters, gas filter, brake fluid (my was dirty), air intake filter above hood (3). i just changed my because they never have and they were flaking away, plus that is the air that comes into the vents. hope this helps check out www.rangerovers.net www.rangie.com they have tons of info

With that many miles, I wouldn't recommend putting in synthetic motor oil, as it is known to find small leaks and make a mess of them.

I wouldn't do a full trans flush as it can cause the trans to slip...I would just do a pan drop and filter change, and top off the tranny with new ATF.

As for the cooling system, you can try and test the coolant to see its protection level and see if needs to be replaced. When it needs to be replaced, do a flush.

I run Mobil Synthetic everything... 178,00 on mine..runs great..I would do the transmission personally!
