Default 94 noise when accelerating

novice ranger owner here..when i step on the gas rover makes a kind of loud clicking kind of noise, sounds like it is under my feet. when i lay off the gas it stops. if you hit the gas while idling it also appears. help?????

mine is doing the exact same thing and it started a week ago..i think it has something to do with the exhaust system

just talk to a mechanic, says it sounds like spark plug leakage..anyone heard of this?

i noticed today that it only makes the sound once the engine has warmed up

Yeah, spark plug leakage. You may want to check the headlight fluid too.

While $700 is a pretty good price to do the head gaskets (both should really be done), you might want to get details of what the mechanic will be doing in writing because it is a fairly big and important job. Also, you might want to get a second opinion before you hand over your truck and your cash.

Paul is correct.
This is a big job. And you will need to have the heads worked on as well. If you have them off the truck get a head job on them. Will give you many more years of enjoyment if you do. Good news is depending on where you go the head job could be anywhere from 100$ to 200$ maybe more. I had mine done at a race shop here in OKC for 106$, both sides. The shop was familiar with my motor and had done work for a friend of mine on his Jaguars.
So my confidence level in their ability was high.
