This is strange, and it has happened twice this past week. I have been driving along, come to a stop, and the engine just quits...not stuttering or stalling, just shuts down. When I try and restart it, nothing at all. The lights, stereo, etc. work, but the Rover won't give any indication that turning the key usually causes the engine to start. After about a half hour or so, the car starts right up. Any ideas on what might be going on?
Thanks. |

sounds like maybe the ignition amplifier module. attached to the side of the distributor. usually relocating it to a less HOT location like on the inside of the fender works. that is if i am reading this right... and your saying it will crank over but it won't start so the starter is working...right? if it cranks and won't start untill its a cooled a while another option is to put a 160 degree thermostat in and a pint of wetter water. that will make it run cool enough so the ignition amplifier module shouldn't overheat. if you want to relocate it i think british pacifc sells the kit.
