What color are the wires? If they are yellow, that means the airbag is not connected and can be a hazard to you if you get involved in a serious front end collision. I would advise if you are not familiar with SRS service, that you have the vehicle updated with new air bags as the owners manual advises. But if you're testy, you can attempt to reconnect the wires yourself, just consult a manual first.

The Dealer or a Land Rover specialty shop. I just warned a Guy about this in the "passing Inspection" thread. SRS systems are very dangerous. Unless you are a mechanic (good mechanic) with the latest copy of the shop manual at your side it is just not worth the risk to try to repair this yourself. Please don't mess with this system at all. Even with the battery dissconected the air bag can still deploy. The first generation air bags are very powerfull and if you are in the wrong place when they go off (ie not square sitting back in the drivers seat facing front) they can kill you, no joke. So don't probe wires, test connections or "jiggle" loose wires, just take it to a shop that knows your veh and has the info and tools to repair it correctly. It will cost you money but it will not cost you your life. Keep smiling.
