Default 95 lwb won't turn over

My 95 LWB decided not to turn over today. Every once in a while it will catch and start up, but after a few seconds it dies again. I have no idea what to start with in terms of a fix. My service engine light went on a couple of days ago, but I have not brought it into my mechanic to see what codes might need attention. I have 180K on the clock.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Is the starter just turning over, or is it doing nothing at all???

If it's turning over, move on to the next possibility. If not, focus on the starter and related components.

Have you tested to see if you are getting spark at the plugs??
Remove a plug wire, stick a screwdriver in the connection for the plug on the wire, and have a friend turn it over. Does it spark??? The coil might be crapping out as well so check that.

Are you getting fuel to the injectors??? No fuel could be numerous things. Check the fuel filter as well. If it's full of crap and debris, replace it. Check the fuel pump as well. Is it turning on???

What about timing??? Is your RRC in need of some maintainence/timing adjustment.
180K is alot of miles, but it may be due for scheduled maintainence.

Get the Check Engine code first, then start to eliminate problems one by one. You can pull the code yourself, just do a search for the procedure.

$.02 to get you started, keep us informed.
