Default 95 rrc classic alternator

Let my wife drive the rover today and all of a sudden the truck dies. I debriefed her fully and apparently the radio and tach stopped working and the battery light came on. I'm assuming the alternator is the culprit here. I swapped a battery and drove it home. the battery light was on the entire way and the tach still not working. I'm gonna replace the alternator. I have 125k on it and it appears to be original. Any advise or pitfalls I should look for when replacing the alternator. Is it an easy job or will I be swearing like a sailor. Thanks for the help

Check all wires first, and assure good ground. And maybe read this....

Next you must drink 2 Guinness's and splash one on the Rovers engine in order to appease the Land Rover Gods for letting your wife drive the Rover without asking the Rovers permission first.

LOL...JK (err kinda)...these beasts are very possessive sometimes.

If All Wires Are Connected Right By The Alternator And The Tach Still Doesnt Work Its A Sure Sign Its The Alternator..easy Job To Do In The Drive Way Just A Few Bolts And Walla...atlantic British Has A New One For $250unless You Want A Bosch Or Ac Delco But That Becomes A Pain In The A#$ Cause Youll Need To Find A Bracket. To Match.i Swapped Mine A Few Months Ago Along With The Water Pump It Took Less Than An Hour

theres a guy in van nuys, ca. who is a real old russian. he also holds several Lucas factory certifications. he is a lucas alternator builder familiar with the particular problems that warehouse re-builder overlook, especially diodes...
he and his sons have a place called C.A.E. and he sold me a hand rebuilt lucas unit with a 2 year free replacement for 89 dollars no core charge. i can't remember the number but i phoned the order in and he mailed it to me. its been good so far.. if you want to look them up in the book they may have an alternator for you.
