If you have a v-belt alternator, you can use a VW Bosch alternator.

Finally getting around to installing a Bosch.
For anyone looking to pick up the connector locally, the only place I could find that had it was the Zone. GP Sorensen part #800-9213. Plenty of places online.

I used a Gm SI12 Alternator on my 1990. Worked Great, Cheap, and avalible everywhere. Had to use different brackets, but so what.
