Default Alternator connections....

Where does the lead from the second suppressor connect on the alternator? Or does it connect at all?

I have two suppressors bolted together on the bottom of the Lucas Alt - the wire from one connects to a terminal on the back of the alternator, the second one is just taped up out of the way. The service manual shows that there are two, but doesn't show where the second one connects.....its been that way since I bought it a while back.

Can somebody just post a pic of the back of there alternator and where its connected? - I have no clue where it goes.

Thanks

Steve

Mainly just look and see if you have two suppressors and where they connect? One of mine is connected to a terminal on the back of the alternator, the other one was just taped up and hanging, I ended up removing it because I thought some dufus put two on it accidentally, but I was glancing through the shop manual and noticed it had two on the alternator in there as well, with one connected to the back of the alt just like mine and the other terminal was not shown to be connected to anything on the alternator, but no indication as to where it is supposed to connect....weird...maybe its just supposed to hang there....LOL.

Thanks, thats what I thought, the other suppressor connects parallel to the tach connection - it looks like the PO took it out of the loop. I wonder if thats why my Tach never seems to read correctly - it will read 0 at idle and seems to wind up quite a bit more easily that the motor does.....
