Default amplifier 'skid plate' i made for rear loadspace

When i finished the interior work in my classic I wanted to put something in the loadspace to protect my new amplifier - having just dropped some cash on a pretty nice system.

Check out this 'skid plate' i built out of sheet steel. Basically it connects to long steel horizontal brackets which are screwed to the factory brackets - the ones which used to hold CD player, amplifier and right side of parcel deck in place. Factory brackets are painted in truck bed liner so theres no metal on metal squeeking.

Over the brackets go a horizontal piece (with section cut out for wiring conduit coming to and from amplifier) and slots cut into it so that it accomodates a strap. The strap holds my fire extinguisher.

Vertical steel plates are held on with black plastic thumbscrews so i could easily take off a plate if need be. The plates and the brackets I added are currently paited in an enamel paint, my intention is to paint them in truck bed liner to match the rest once the weather warms up.

Based on how easily this went together I'm thinking of building out a parts and tool box to match this.
