Default Automatic Trans Cooling Lines

Has anyone had experience replacing the transmission cooling lines on a Rover Classic?? My mechanic is replacing the old transmission cooler(located under radiator) and the cooler lines. The replacement cooler lines are part of a kit i.e. all three lines from Atlantic British. Herein lies the problem, the trans cooler seems to be an "O" ring connection and the cooler lines are sometype of "ball end", they don't seem to match-up. Also the one trans cooler line in the kit is about 1 inch longer than the original, causing a kink in the rubber section of the line(maybe packaged wrong). So far this project has replaced the radiator the engine oil cooling lines, the trans oil cooler and the trans oil cooler lines (I Hope). 92 Rover Classic..
