This only happens over half throttle. The engine cuts out and starts popping, no codes. Any ideas? Thanks

I have noticed the same thing that happens to me when I let is sit for a while. By a while I mean around 2 to 4 weeks. I also noticed that my idle was off. I adjusted my idle to around 600 - 700 in gear at a stop. That seemed to help. I should check my timming though.

Put a good dose of injector or petrol cleaner through the engine. Backfire can be caused by carbon build up in the cylinders. May not be the cause, but it won't do the engine any harm and you can cross one of the list.

It could be something in the ignition, but it is often related to other things. For example the engine running too lean. It can also be valves.
But a backfire is different to popping. In the heading of the thread you start that it is a backfire, but the text states that it is a popping. Does it go bang, or just it just start missing. |

It cuts out, and if you keep in the throttle, it pops back through the intake like it's trying to run, but can't. If you let off throttle, it returns to idle and idles fine.
