Well, found out that the drag link is bent!
Whats the best action? Is Rovertym going to be my best option? I assume so..... I also assume that i will have to get the relocation kit for the steering stabilizer.... sigh....money in.....money out......![]()

DAP has a kit with the drag link, tie rod and greasable ends for a great price. I have had great luck with them as have others I know.

Putting on a heavy duty track rod does not mean that you have to relocate the steering damper. I run a heavy duty maxi-drive track rod, but the steering damper is in its original position.

I think the Rovertym is well worth the money...

I have just realised the question was about drag links rather than track rods.
Would not recommend upgrading the drag link to a heavy duty option, they can break the steering box. You can still drive with a bent drag link, not so with a broken steering box. The drag links and track rods on a Rangie are designed to be a bit flexible. You can get away with (and it is a good idea) upgradingyour track rod. The extra stiffness just tends to shorten the live of the ball joints. But putting in a stiff drag link can transmit any shock from an impact to the wheel to the steering box. Breaking the box. Without a steering box, the car is staying where it is. |

I was joking. I have the RTE model, too, and I have had excellent results. Amazingly enough, my steering box is intact.

The money you paid would have paid for a decent bash plate that would have protected it and anything else across the front. How many CVs have you broken? How many axles? How many Crown wheel and pinions. How many diff centres. How many mounts have you ripped off the chassis. How many shocks have you snapped the ends off. How many engine mounts have to ripped apart. How many A frame brackets have you ripped from the diff housing. If YOU have not broken one, it must not happen. Is that what you are saying. |
