Default Bleed the brakes or just fill up the reservoir?

The braided stainless hose (approx. 10" long) that runs between the ABS pump and the accumulator on my 1994 RR has ruptured. If I replace the hose, do I then have to bleed the brakes, or can I just fill the reservoir back up and go?

Also, can anyone tell me what that hose is called or point me in the direction of a part number? Thanks.

You could just remove the hose and take it down to a hose manufacturer and get it made. That's how I did my brake lines for my Classic.

You will need to bleed them I believe. If there is air between the reservoir and the abs pump it will soon be in the pump and then the accumlator...etc...
best to bleed it.

Remember brake fluid will remove paint so use lots of care with the fluid.

Bleed them, there is air in your lines, start in the back and work forwards.

Yeah, any time you disconnect any piece (or it disconnects itself...) between the slave and the master you will have to bleed it. There can not be any air in there at all. If there is you will be surprised as hell as the brake pedal goes to the floor and you don't stop. Also be sure that you use clean new fluid, and that you clean the cap before you open the reservoir unless you have pulled it off already. All that stuff needs to be as clean as possible to avoid contamination. While you are bleeding it be sure that you are watching the level in the reservoir, as it will let air in if it is too low. I learned that the hard way. Always be filling it up as you go along. Also use only the fresh stuff, you don't want to recycle that crap back in there

I recall reading somewhere that the best fuild to use is Castrol LMA (low moisture activity) due to the nature of the seals in the RR ABS. What...a problem with seals in a RR, say it aint so!!
