Default Brake Switch issue

Hey guys, I replaced the brake switch with one from Auto Zone and it seems to be too short. The plunger length is about 1/4" shorter on the new one.

While I can get the truck into gear, the brake lights now stay on, and the key will not come out of the ignition without disconnecting the battery. Any suggestions on the model number I need and where to get it?

Thanks in advance

Just answered my own question. I was about to build a plastic extension for the plunger. Turns out that the brake switch from autozone that I bought extends if you gently pull on the plunger. Feeling a bit stupid, but everything works fine now

Now that you mention that...I remember the instructions said to pull the plunger out. Too many years have passed. Sorry.
