I really need some help. Here's the situation: 1992 RR County (with ABS)
(1) I turn the ignition "on". The ABS light is on. The ABS pump starts up and runs for about 30-40 seconds and then shuts off. It kicks in for a couple of seconds every 5-6 minutes. (2) My brake pedal is as hard as a rock. It feels the same whether the engine is on or off. The truck still stops. As soon as I press the pedal the brakes just grab. If I want to stop quickly, I really have to lean on them. (3) If I press the brakes hard two or three times, the pedal doesn't really move, but the pump kicks on for a couple of seconds (this is with ignition on, but engine off). Please, please help. I'll replace whatever I need to, I just don't know what to buy! Is it the booster? the pump? the accumulator? relays? I just don't know. This is driving me crazy! -Rich |
