Default cam timing

I pulled the timing cover on my 95 - 4.2L
It looks as though someone in the past replaced the timing chain and gears with a roller set but when the installed it, they had the cam at 4 degrees retarded (you have keyways on the CLOYES chains - 1 for TDC, 1 for 4 retard, 1 for 4 adv). I assume since I have a stock motor it should be TDC right?

Anyways, at 4 retarded on the cam in my current situation the only thing I would have is a loss of power right?

Would this effect idle in any way>???

Best try and contact the manufacturer of the timing set for timing settings.
The gear might be on 4 degrees but the chain might be some degrees off in the other direction.
Get the basic settings and start afresh.
