Ok guys here is my dilemma,
I have (2) 1995 RRC SWB, both white with tan. One must be sold! Which one would you keep? Both 135,000 miles. Rover #1 The GOOD: Excellent body & paint. Spring conversion. No rust. Tailgate is perfect Brand new tires. Rims perfect. The BAD: Needs new head gaskets. ($1,800 dollar estimate for repair) ($3100 for installed 60K miles engine) Interior needs a lot of new pieces and front carpet. Driver seat ripped. Headliner sagging. Cracked front window Rover #2 The GOOD: Interior is near perfect. Headliner is perfect. Drives better than Rover #1. Does not leak any oil. The BAD: Body is ok but does have some rust, tailgate etc. Still has Air suspension but does work. Paint needs to be detailed. I got an estimate today for $350. Tires @ 75% rims a little scratched. Wife and I are not sure which one to keep. The other one will probably be sold on EBAY as they seem to sell better over there (more viewers). Thanks for all that put in their two cents! |

Consolidate and make one Rover (vehicle #2) as good as you can and sell of the other for what ever you can get. Take off the good body panels and rear tailgate from vehicle #1 and put them on vehicle #2? If you're industrious you can take the coil conversion off #1 and install it on #2 as well. It's not that hard to do. In the end you'll have a solid truck and maybe you'll get $1K for vehicle #1.

I agree with Paul. As long as space isn't an issue and you can keep both around, I'd take the best parts from both and make a good truck. Part out what's left on ebay.

I also concur, reading your post, it seems you answered your own question. By far the easiest, probably most cost effective option would be to transfer the interior bits of #2 into #1 and then you'll have a sharp rover inside and out!

I agree with Paul. Put the non rusty bits on the rrc with the good motor. swap the lift(it won't affect the sale price anyway) put the best set of wheels on the one you keep, and part the rest wherever. you will be happy not paying for rust repair or motor repairs.
You don't mention it, but check to see which hast the better inner fenders and sills. both very prone on the RRC to disolving. Good Luck

I think Will Tillery is looking for a 95 SWB. Try him at 434.251.9331 or willtillery@roverguy.com
