clearing codes on 95 classic, which plug???? - Land Rovers Only

got a code 48 (stepper motor, which was replaced) and want to clear the code. book says disconnect serial link mating plug for 5 seconds with ignition on.

did this to about a dozen plugs, and still have code. what exactly does this plug look like, color, and where is it located?

I assume you have ECM codes, not ABS. Disconnect battery for a 10 seconds or so.

ABS is connector under driver seat, see manual (Hayes) for detail. Battery disconnect will not clear ABS. Put in jumper, turn on ignition, remove jumper with ingition on.

This was on 1991 RR.

I had the exact same code on my 93. I cleaned the stepper motor, then I re-installed. When I did that though, I disconnected the battery. So when I reconnected the battery, the check engine light was not illuminated. (never checked to see if the code appeared

)

What were your symptoms, or did you just change it b/c of the code?
