The Land Rover Family

This thread had been hijacked toward cup holders recently.

What are you trying to add cup holders to? Model/year etc.

You mentioned RRC (which is ONLY 1995 MY) but I didn't want to assume such a point of minutia.

Wish no longer.

You seemed so despondent I went and took a photo of my off road office.

Lots of strange looking stuff there, but the cup holders are quite obvious. I got them free from generous friends. Rover Connection has them for $12.

Thor, did you have to alter those at all?
The ad for them says 95 model, we both have earlier years.
Thank you,
bernie

I made a cup holder for my rangie.
But since this picture I modified it a bit.

You can see it a little bit in this pic on the left.
I changed the cup part to a turned wood cup. And built the bracket so that the cupholders can be removed so I can work on stuff in the middle if necessary. The bracket mounts to the seat so if you move up and back the cupholder is right there with you.

I was going to market this and sell them but never got 'round to it.
I only made 3 of them. Two for my buddy. And the demo for my RRC. He never installed his.
I can't believe I don't have any other pics.
If you like send me a PM and i'll get the detail pics and email them to you.

I'll bet the inside of your cubby box was quite toasty then.

Man, you guys got great ideas for places to put cup holders.

I like Okie's idea of the bracket off the seat,

On my 95' RRC, there are the holders that slide out from under the HVAC controls, but won't really accommodate bigger cups, especially if there is two of them. There are also holders for people in the back seat built into the center console lid when it is opened and flipped back. Doesn't hold all that great with the pot holes in MI and OH.
