Hi All,
If you've read this thread in another forum - my apologies - I want as much knowledge as I can get... What are the symptoms of a CV joint failing? Many thanks, Mark HH |

since i know you've got a D1...check your swivel ball. A dry CV could eventually become a damaged CV. You'll hear a clunking sound as you turn. This. A damage CV means the race that holds the bearing-like balls in place has cracked. I ran mine dry for a few months and the race eventually started to crack. check here for the replacement process...

Hi 0100,
I've had, one way or another a miserable week with my truck... All the noises! Wednesday I swapped the front propshaft and all seems to be well - then today I get the dull metalic "click-thunk" from the drivers wheel when I turn hard to the drivers side - I guess I had two problems at the same time! I'm going to buy the new stub axle and beaing in the morning, along with axle stands, torque wrench and of coures the hub spanner (and 1 000 001 other bits I'll need) hopefully by the end of the day I'll have her fine again... ..until next time - but hey! I'll have the tools! Cheers, Mark HH Hi Okie - I'll check your link... |
